Michael Pohle carried his lacrosse skills from Hunterdon Regional Central High School in New Jersey to Virginia Tech. He was a midfielder, a player who covers the entire field.
His lifelong friend, Chris Ambrosio, who attends West Virginia University, said their friendship began on the soccer field.
"I’ve known him since about the sixth grade," Ambrosio said. "We always had a good time. He was an upbeat kind of guy."
Pohle was a biology major at Tech and was a few weeks from graduation. Pohle, the oldest of three children, leaves his brother and sister, as well as his parents, according to The Star-Ledger.
"He would do anything for anybody," Ambrosio said.
